What do we mean by "Primitive Camping"?

The Pit is a Primitive Campground, meaning:

We do not have electric hookups

We do not have drinking water

We do not have hot or cold showers

We do not have a dump station for pull campers

We do have a clean outhouse

We do have a shower house where you can hang a solar shower bag

We do have a hose so you can fill your shower bag with lake water

We can accommodate small pull campers up to about 20 feet and small RVs up to about 20 feet

We are located very close to town where you can purchase ice, drinking water, beverages, food and other supplies.  Please see the Map Page.

The gate is locked from April to October.  Climb over the gate, walk down and get the key to open the gate and drive in.  Campers can rent a key for a $25 deposit.

There is no charge for camping, swimming or hanging out at the Pit except on the following dates:  Memorial Day Weekend, July 2nd through 5th and Labor Day weekend.  On these dates, there is a one-time charge of $5 per person
